The single-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday, Nov. 26, at around 12 p.m. at the intersection of Terrace Avenue and Michigan Avenue, police said. Responding officers found a 2021 Lexus SUV rolled over with a snapped utility pole.
The 25-year-old driver had already self-extricated by the time police arrived and declined medical attention at the scene, authorities said. He was issued a summons for careless driving, according to Lt. John Behr of the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department.
First responders, including the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department, Holy Name BLS, Verizon, and PSEG, were called to assist. Nick’s Towing cleared the vehicle from the roadway, Behr said.
As of 2 p.m., Terrace Avenue remained closed in both directions while crews awaited Verizon repairs, police said.
